AGAPE was founded on December 15, 1991 as a response to the tragic occurrences and as a need to provide help to those that needed it the most. Immediately after it was founded, the churches abroad were alarmed and appealed to send humanitarian help for victims of the war in Croatia. Humanitarian relief started to come in abundance (clothes and shoes, food, medications, second-hand furniture, money, bed sheets, blankets, etc.).
AGAPE also received donations in agricultural tools, seeds for farms, as well as livestock and building materials for houses and farms rebuilding projects.
At the same time, AGAPE was actively working on interfaith and ecumenical dia-logue, promoting peace and conflict transformation in cooperation with local and inter-national NGOs, numerous religious communities and foundations.
